Bangladesh pays homage to 2016 Dhaka terror attack victims

Bangladesh is observing the third anniversary of the deadliest terror attack in its history at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka on July 1, 2016. The attackers took hostage 40 people before brutally killing 20 of them most of whom were foreigners including one from India. Two policemen were also killed in the operation against the terrorists. 

Family members and well wishers of the victims along with officials from the law enforcement agencies laid wreath in the premises of the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka to pay homage to the victims of the attack.

According to the charge sheet filed by police, a faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was involved in the planning and execution of the terrorist attack in 2016.

The trial in the attack is continuing at the Anti-Terrorism Tribunal in Dhaka. It is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
