Actor Rahul Dev, who is known for playing villainous characters on-screen, says that he is sharing all the necessary information with his family in Delhi amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The actor also reveals that he is using this time to connect with his family and learn new skills.

In an exclusive interaction with ETimes, Rahul speaks about the ongoing pandemic and what all precautions he is taking to combat it. Excerpts…

How has life changed post the Coronavirus Pandemic?

The general pace has slowed down. There has been more time for others, for myself to reflect. I am also making time to learn a new skill. I have been taking and enjoying sword fighting lessons.

What sort of precautions are you taking?

I am paying more heed to hygiene in general and sharing the process with others including my house help. I am taking precautions like frequent washing of hands, deploying a face mask and avoiding public places.

How has it affected your work? Have any shoots been cancelled?

Currently, the dubbing for my next show which was slated for an early release has been put on hold. So have the readings of some of my scripts been pushed ahead. Both of my shoots have been called off till March 31 as well.

How do you keep yourself busy since everything is in lockdown… anything that you are doing in this free time?

Some of my promotional activities will begin soon. Other than that, I have been reading scripts which have been offered to me and connecting with my family, making time for others, learning new skills and counting my innumerable blessings.

How are you taking care of your family and loved ones at this time?

I can’t do much except for sharing whatever information I get from recognised platforms. My son and mother stay in Delhi. She is cautious and he is very aware. I could have travelled to see them but I feel this is the time when all of us should avoid travelling at all.

What message would you like to give to everyone during this time?

I would strongly recommend to everyone to share the simple gifts of hygiene and be kind to our environment which has been taken for granted for too long. Help whoever you can, start from home. Make time for family, loved ones, people who work for you and your own self. Refrain from spreading any kind of rumours or false claims to do with the virus. It’s time for patience and kindness.
