Sheikh Hasina invites Chinese business to invest in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has exhorted Chinese business to explore the full potential of business and trade relations with Bangladesh.

Delivering the keynote address at a round-table meeting with business leaders of China in Beijing yesterday Ms. Hasina said Bangladesh offered great opportunities of investment in textile, Ready Made Garments, leather, agro- processing and light engineering.   

She said that Bangladesh offers some of the world’s most competitive fiscal and non-fiscal incentive packages for foreign investors.   Prime Minister Hasina said China is the largest trading partner of Bangladesh with total volume of trade exceeding 12 billion dollars in 2017-18 but most of it consist of import from China. She said that Bangladesh is setting up a special economic zone for the Chinese investors to encourage investment in the country.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is on a 5 day visit to China which will conclude today.
